These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of TheTreasureHunter.app (“TreasureHunter,” “we,” “us”), operated by JPEGLabs LLC. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use TreasureHunter.
TreasureHunter lets you photograph secondhand items, get AI-generated identification and value estimates, and keep a personal inventory of your finds. You're responsible for the photos and information you upload, and for how you use the app.
Item identifications, origin details, value estimates, comparable listings, and answers to your questions are generated by AI models and are provided for informational purposes only. They are estimates, not a professional appraisal, and not investment, legal, or purchase advice. AI-generated information can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong.
You are solely responsible for any decision you make to buy, sell, or otherwise act on an item — including relying on a value estimate — and should independently verify anything important before acting on it, especially for higher-value items.
You need a Google account to sign in. You're responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity under it. Let us know right away if you believe your account has been compromised.
Free accounts include 10 research credits. One credit is used when the full research report for a new item completes. Adding photos to an item, or updating its research with details you provide, doesn't use another credit. Credits have no cash value, can't be transferred, and may be changed for future accounts.
Membership costs $4.99 per month (plus any applicable taxes) and includes unlimited research, subject to reasonable use — we may limit automated, abusive, or excessive use. Payments are processed by Stripe.
Automatic renewal. Your membership is billed monthly in advance and renews automatically each month until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method at the start of each billing period.
Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from your Profile page using “Manage subscription.” Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep membership until then, and you won't be charged again. Your account then returns to the free plan with any credits you had left.
Refunds. Payments are non-refundable, and we don't provide refunds or credits for partial months, except where required by law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we'll look into it.
Failed payments and price changes. If a renewal payment fails, we may retry it; if it can't be collected, your account returns to the free plan. We may change the membership price, but we'll give you at least 30 days' notice before a new price applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.

You keep ownership of the photos and information you upload. You grant us a limited license to store and process that content solely to operate the app for you — for example, sending your photos to our AI provider to generate a research report. See our Privacy Policy for details on how your data is handled.
You can stop using TreasureHunter and delete your account at any time. If you have a membership, cancel it first so you aren't charged for the next period. We may suspend or terminate your access if we believe you've violated these Terms or misused the service.
TreasureHunter is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, JPEGLabs LLC and TreasureHunter will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from a purchase, sale, or other decision made in reliance on information from the app, including AI-generated value estimates. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you've paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim arose.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above. Continuing to use the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
