Privacy Policy

Effective September 29, 2026

TheTreasureHunter.app (“TreasureHunter,” “we,” “us”) is operated by JPEGLabs LLC. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Our approach

We don't share or sell your personal data. Photos you take and the information you enter are kept so your inventory stays intact — we retain them until you delete your account, at which point they're removed.

Information we collect

  • Account information — when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo.
  • Photos you capture or upload — of items you're researching, stored so your inventory and research reports stay available.
  • Piece details you provide or generate — purchase price, notes, location, questions you ask, and the AI-generated research and valuation for each item.

We don't use advertising identifiers or third-party ad networks.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how TreasureHunter is used — for example, which pages are visited and which features are used — so we can improve the app. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your device, browser, approximate location (derived from your IP address), and in-app activity. We don't send your name, email address, photos, or item details to Google Analytics. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. You can opt out using Google's browser add-on.

How we use it

Your information is used solely to operate and improve the app: to identify and value the items you photograph, to keep your inventory and research history, to sign you in securely, to process your membership, and to understand how the app is used so we can make it better. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes.

Who processes your data

We use a small number of service providers to run the app, each acting on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments:

  • Google — for sign-in (OAuth); the Gemini API, which analyzes your photos to identify items and estimate value; and Google Analytics (see above).
  • Stripe — processes membership payments. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored on our servers.
  • Amazon Web Services (S3) — where your photos are stored.
  • MongoDB Atlas — where your account and piece data are stored.

How long we keep it

Your photos and piece data are kept for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your photos and personal data are deleted from our systems.

Your choices

You can delete individual pieces at any time from within the app. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the email below.

Children's privacy

TreasureHunter is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date above.
